About the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators:

NCCCO was formed in 1995 as a non-profit organization with a stated mission to develop effective performance standards for safe crane operation to assist all segments of general industry and construction. NCCCO is headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, and maintains offices in Murray, Utah, and Dunedin, Florida.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Office Administrator, the successful candidate will perform a wide range of administrative-related tasks by performing clerical functions such as answering phones, preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, and setting up meetings. May also conduct research, prepare statistical reports, handle information requests, and train/supervise lower-level temporary clerical staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Reception
    • Answer phone calls and direct calls to appropriate parties or take messages utilizing professional interpersonal skills
    • Greet visitors via an intercom system and determine whether they should be given access to specific individuals
    • Maintain visitor log
  2. Office Phones
    • Assist with Jive phone system for Virginia office
    • Label/track phone assets in the office
    • Basic phone programming support
  3. Customer Service
    • Provide customer service support
    • Support projects as assigned
  4. Video Monitor Displays
    • Support/maintain the content of the lobby and break room monitors
  5. Multipurpose/Conference Room Duties
    • Support events in Virginia office
    • Understand/support the use of equipment in multi-purpose and conference rooms
    • Make arrangements, such as coordinating catering for staff luncheons, and other business meetings
  6. Recertification Mailings
    • Assemble Recertification Packets and prepare for mailing
  7. Receive Packages
    • Process mailing and postage
    • Record all shipments as they arrive and ensure materials are filed and stored, as necessary
  8. General Office Duties
    • Order supplies, stock the kitchen, and monitor inventory of supplies
    • Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email
    • Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries
    • Support the Office Administrator with off-site storage maintenance
    • Maintain workroom in an organized and tidy condition
    • Provide clerical support to other departments
  9. Other Job-Related Duties as Assigned


  • 3–5 years’ receptionist or administrative experience
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Acute attention to detail

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is largely a desk-bound position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects to 20 lb. Requires the ability occasionally to travel locally, regionally, and nationally.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED WORK HOURS: This is a full-time position. Unless otherwise arranged, regular days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
